An article written by ESPN states that since 2013 and 2018 youth baseball has increased by 3 million. They also mentioned in that same timespan, soccer and football decreased, and basketball didn’t have the same increase as baseball.
As I mentioned in an earlier blog, the MLB ratings have decreased for the past four years. But, will this increase in little league play, have the same significant affect on the MLB ratings?
Obviously, it’s going increase because usually if you play a certain sport, you watch it. Or is it? In this timespan the ratings have gone down. Even if the ratings continue to increase, from what’s been happening, it’s not going to change. They’ll watch one game and get bored. It’s to separate things. Playing the game, and actually watching.

The youth will watch it once but they either like it or not. It’s the pace of play that lowers the ratings and nothing will change that. I know a lot of people that play baseball and don’t consistently watch. It’s the MLB that ruins their own game.
