9. Justify winning the Triple Crown

I totally forgot about this but, another Triple Crown win. It seems the Triple Crown is starting to become a trend and that’s why this is lower.

8. Tiger’s Return

Tiger Woods made his return to the golfing world with authority. He turned on the jets in the Fed Ex Cup Playoffs and, in the Tour Championship, he won and almost won the Fed Ex Cup.

7. The Minnesota Miracle

The Minnesota Miracle was Stephon Diggs catch at the last second to go to the NFC Championship. It was play that got me jumping up and down watching live.

6. The Capitals Winning the Stanley Cup

The Capitals won their first Stanley Cup and brought the first major sports championship to D.C. since 1992.

5. The Eagles win the Super Bowl

The Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl ever, beating the Patriots 41-33. It is high because they lost their QB, Carson Wentz in Week 15 and Nick Foles led the team to the Lombardi Trophy.

4. NCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship Buzzer Beater

Notre Dame’s Arike Ogunbowale, made a unbelievable buzzer beater, to beat Mississippi St. in the National Championship.

3. Tua Tagovailoa’s National Championship winning pass

Tua Tagovailoa came in the National Championship over Jalen Hurts, down 13-0, to try to perform better. He did that as Alabama won 23-20 on a game winning pass in overtime

2. SISTER JEAN

The Loyola-Chicago Ramblers made the Final Four as a 11-seed and won 4 games to make it to the Final Four. The Cinderella Story with Sister Jean, the team’s chaplain, along side them every game.

1. UMBC!

The ultimate underdog, a 16-seed beating a 1. Never been done before. I live 15 miles from UMBC and I remember the whole game. I was at a friend’s house and stood behind the same chair for the whole game. Just to be superstitious. In my mind, it is easily the greatest moment of the year.
